Proxies in North America

Proxies in North America: ProxyOnly lists 42 countries here, and 3 of them have live stock today. The lowest price in North America is US$0.08 per IP for 3 days, in Canada. Pick a country to see its proxy types, its prices and the cities and regions we list.

Proxies are sold by country, so the useful question for a North America project is which country you need, which type fits and what it costs. The table lists every country in North America that has stock, and the list below it links to the rest, so you can also see where we do not stock yet.

How country targeting works

ProxyOnly sells proxies by country. When you rent an IP you pick the country, the proxy type and the rental period, and every request you send through that proxy leaves from an address registered in that country. Gateway users can also add a country code to the username, for example username-country-us, to choose the exit per request.

We do not promise a city, a ZIP code or a specific ISP for countries outside the United States, because the suppliers behind those countries sell by country. If a project needs a particular city, test the address with the proxy tester first and talk to us before you rent a large batch.

What a proxy in North America is used for

People rent proxies in North America for the same reasons they rent them anywhere: to see public content the way a local visitor sees it. These are the jobs we hear about most.

Market research on public data. Researchers read public pages the way a local visitor would: listings, directories, public review pages and government or company sites that vary by country. Using a North America exit shows the version of the page meant for North America. Collect only what you are allowed to collect, respect robots rules and rate limits, and keep your own notes in your own tools.

App store and content availability. App stores, software downloads and media catalogues differ by country. A North America address lets you check whether an app is listed for North America, which price and currency the store shows, and whether a public download or landing page is available there. It is a read-only check: you still need to follow the terms of the service you are testing.

Brand and reputation monitoring. Brand teams watch how a name appears on public pages in North America: local news sites, regional marketplaces, comparison pages and review sites. A North America exit makes sure the pages you review are the ones local visitors get, in the local language, rather than a version redirected for your own location.

Ad and landing page verification. Ads, offers and landing pages often change by country. With an exit in North America a media buyer can see what a visitor in North America would see: the language (the local language), the price in the local currency, the local promotions and the pages that are blocked or redirected for other countries. That is the quickest way to catch a broken geo-targeting rule before it burns budget.

Price and availability monitoring. Retailers, marketplaces and travel sites show different prices to different countries, and the difference is often visible only from a local address. Checking public prices from North America lets you compare what shoppers in North America are charged in the local currency, whether an item ships there, and how delivery promises differ from your home market.

Which proxy type fits North America

Pick the proxy type from the job rather than the price. Here is how the types we sell compare, so you can match one to your work in North America:

Datacenter IPv4. The default choice for most jobs. These are dedicated IPv4 addresses hosted in a datacenter, fast and inexpensive, and the best fit for high-volume reading of public pages, monitoring and automation. Some websites treat datacenter ranges more cautiously than consumer connections, so test your target before you commit to a long rental.

ISP proxies. Static addresses that are registered to an internet service provider rather than a hosting company. They keep the speed of datacenter hardware and look more like an ordinary home or office connection, which helps with destinations that are strict about hosting ranges.

Shared IPv4. A shared address is used by more than one customer and costs less. It suits light tasks, quick checks and testing where a clean, exclusive address is not essential.

IPv6. IPv6 addresses are very cheap and plentiful, and they work well with destinations that serve IPv6 traffic, such as many large search, video and social platforms. Many smaller sites are still IPv4 only, so check that your target supports IPv6 before you buy.

Mobile proxies. Addresses from mobile carrier networks. Many phones share the same carrier address, so websites tend to be tolerant of this traffic, which makes mobile proxies the right choice for testing mobile ads, apps and landing pages. They cost more than datacenter addresses.

Residential proxies. Addresses from home internet connections, billed by the amount of traffic you use and not by the IP. They suit light, bursty jobs on sites that block datacenter and ISP ranges. Heavy traffic gets expensive quickly, so estimate your monthly volume first.

If you are unsure, rent one address of the type you think you need, run your real task against it for a day, and look at the success rate. Because rental periods start at a few days, trying a type costs very little.

Start using a North America proxy in minutes

Setup is the same for every country. Create an account, add funds to your balance, choose the country and the proxy type on the order page, and your credentials appear in the dashboard as soon as the order is delivered. Any HTTP client that supports a proxy will work, and the example below shows the gateway form with the country in the username.

  1. Create a free account and sign in.
  2. Add funds to your balance. Top-ups start from one US dollar and are paid in cryptocurrency.
  3. Open the order page, pick a country, the proxy type and a rental period, and place the order.
  4. Copy the host, port, username and password from the dashboard and add them to your tool or script.
  5. Run the proxy tester to confirm the exit IP and country before your real job starts.
curl --proxy http://username-country-us:[email protected]:8000 https://example.com

Using proxies responsibly in North America

A proxy is a networking tool and it is lawful in most places, but what you do with it still has to be lawful and fair. Follow the laws that apply to you and to the place you send traffic to, read the terms of the sites you visit, honour robots rules and rate limits, and never use an address to access accounts or data that are not yours. ProxyOnly cannot give legal advice, and our acceptable use policy applies to every order.

In practice that means reading public pages, checking your own sites and ads, and testing your own products. If a task would be unwelcome to the site owner when done by hand, it is unwelcome when done through a proxy too.
